Golf dinner

I attended the Welwyn Garden City Golf Club annual dinner yesterday to collect a cheque from Club Captain Keith Travers.

At the dinner with Keith Travers, Captain
The club, who chose the Lymphoma Association as their charity of the year in memory of Keith's mum raised over £7000 throughout the year at various events and raffles.

Thank you speech
After the dinner I made a thank you speech on behalf of the charity.

Lymphoma Matters article

Lymphoma Matters is the Lymphoma Association's quarterly newsletter.

An article I wrote has been published in the autumn edition. I manage the charity's tribute fund programme, this article talks about one of the funds and how it has helped the fund holder in her journey after her husband died.

Mayor Making Ceremony

On Friday (20th May) I attended the Mayor Making Ceremony for Aylesbury Town.  The Lymphoma Association was one of the Mayor's chosen charities for 2010-2011, a partnership I managed.

The Mayor presented me with a cheque for £1000, but he actually raised over £2000 during the year (some money already received by the charity).  I made an acceptance and thank you speech.

The Speech
As a small momento of Graham's year as Mayor I presented him with 'The Mayor's Little Purple (not mauve) Book of Lymphoma Association Memories'.  This related to his constant use of the work mauve rather than purple when talking about our brand! As you can see he was very touched!

The Mayor and his book with me!
Aylesbury Town Council commented in their press article:
Amie Hill, from Lymphoma Association, one of the Mayor’s charities for 2010-11, thanked Graham for all that he had done for the Aylesbury based charity, including dying his beard purple, skydiving and stacking shelves, and presented him with a Lymphoma Association ‘purple’ book as a light hearted memento of all that he had done for the Lymphoma Association. The other Mayor’s charity for 2010-11 was PACE.

CRM 2011: MAYDOR

I am currently working with a company called MAYDOR on a six month cause-related-marketing promotion.

MAYDOR have created a range of bespoke skincare products to feature in their collection. Initially 50 pence from each product sold will be donated to the Lymphoma Association.

The webpage and labels have been approved and we are ready to launch.
