The first Oxfordshire Sports Awards, commemorating the sporting commitment and achievements of 2006, was held at the Witney Lakes Resort on Friday 23 March 2007.Over 120 guests, including the shortlisted nominees, key partners, representatives from Oxfordshire sports clubs, and members of the 5 district councils attended the awards ceremony.
It was hosted by Roger Cowdrey, Chairman of the Oxfordshire Sports Partnership and Victoria Bennett, Sports Reporter for ITV Thames Valley.
We presented awards in eight categories, there was extremely tough competition, with some very worthy winners.We were delighted all our award winners were able to take time out of their busy schedules to collect the awards on the night. Many of the winners below have gone on to achieve great things following the awards.

Young Volunteer of the Year: Chris Newton (Rugby)
Volunteer of the Year: Brian Toft (Rugby)
Coach of the Year: Struan McNeil (Swimming)
Club of the Year: Witney Rugby Club
Young Sports Achiever of the Year: Claire Lasko (Sailing)
Sports Achiever of the Year: Nathan Douglas (Athletics)
