The Oxfordshire Youth Games 2007 was my first attempt at organising what I considered a relatively BIG sports event... well for the first one anyway!The Youth Games is a multi style sports competition for young people aged 7-14 years. It takes place in most counties across the UK, the biggest Youth Games is in London!
Over 1000 youngsters took part in the Oxfordshire Youth Games 2007, and many more attended to support them in 10 sporting competitions. Luck was on our side as the weather turned out to be beautiful after the weeks of rain we saw leading up to the event and the floods which shortly followed.
To see the youngsters enjoying themselves on the day, it was definitely worth the months of planning and the extremely late nights worked in the 2 weeks leading up to the Games just to pull things together.
